He has worked as a reporter for adult industry trade publications ‘XBIZ’ and ‘Adult Video News’ and has served as the editor of several publications, including ‘Unzipped’ and the widely read ‘Adam Gay Video Directory.’ In early 1998, Adams began writing the weekly gossip and news column ‘The Adams Report by JC Adams,’ which he self-syndicated. He parlayed the attention these jobs brought him into a career of moderate renown as a journalist, blogger, magazine editor, publicist, production manager and director. That same year, he joined the volunteer organizers of the now-defunct Gay Erotic Video Awards.
In 1995, Adams found a freelance job reviewing porn films. Upon graduation from college with departmental honors and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Writing, he defied the wishes of his parents and advisors and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an author, where he quickly amassed a large collection of unproduced screenplays and rejected manuscripts.
